This Webinar aims to provide an educational presentation to help attorneys understand medical terminology in blunt force trauma cases when reading medical records and reviewing case images. Additionally, providing the correct terminology for injuries seen in blunt force trauma as the medical community often uses many terms interchangeably. Explaining the mechanism of injury for many of the injuries seen in these types of cases such as contusions, lacerations, cuts, fractures, ecchymosis, and abrasions.

Speaker Bio:

Lori Combs has been a Registered Nurse for 26 years. Her specific area of nursing focus was in emergency medicine, but also included PACU (recovery room), telemetry, and primary care clinics. During her emergency department career, she attended training in adult and pediatric sexual assault examinations (SANE) in Dallas, Texas and performed SANE exams for adult victims of sexual assault.   Lori has also completed two forensic nursing courses and was certified in forensic nursing and as a forensic consultant. She has furthered her forensic training with a nurse death investigations course in Houston, Texas and has obtained her bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a focus on Crime Scene Investigations (CSI). She currently owns her own consulting business, Critical Analysis Consulting RN, LLC, and provides expert consulting services for criminal attorneys across Florida as a testifying expert and as a supporting consultant.
