Mission Statement & Founding Purposes

Mission

To be the unified voice of an inclusive criminal defense community.
To promote excellence in the practice of criminal law.
To improve the criminal justice system at the judicial, legislative and executive levels.
To insure the integrity and independence of the criminal defense lawyer.
To promote the protection of the rights of individuals.

Founding Purposes

To promote study and research in criminal defense law and related
discipline;
To disseminate by lectures, seminars and publications the advancement
of knowledge of the law as it relates to the field of criminal defense
practice;
To promote the proper administration of criminal justice;
To foster, maintain and encourage the independence and expertise of the
criminal defense lawyer; and
To further the education of the criminal defense community through
periodic meetings and to provide a forum for the exchange of information
concerning the criminal justice system.

The Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Inc., is a not-for-profit corporation formed exclusively for charitable, scientific and educational purposes. Affiliated with the successful National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, FACDL is the only statewide organization dedicated to the criminal defense attorney.
